like father, like daughter

big girl

Wren and I took the light rail to the Nicollet Mall farmers market last week. I had to take pictures of her before we left because she looked like such a big girl about to go downtown for the first time. She was pretty serious for the pics until I said, "can you say, yay market?!?" at which point she gave me the eel like grin in picture three...

fathers day

Wren celebrated Father's Day with all the amazing guys in her life. She has not only has a wonderful dad that loves her, but 2 grand dads and 2 great-grand dads too! She is such a lucky babe.

growing fast

Wren is quickly approaching 2 months and is now over 11 lbs. She has recently discovered her hands and feet and is so interested in kicking her feet and sucking on her fist. She is focusing her eyes frequently, and is really enjoying looking at faces, mobiles, and picture books.

Luna's Sister

Luna is the little girl I used to nanny for. We had dinner with Luna and her mom, Erin, the other night. Luna knows her mom has a sister, and I have a sister, and so she has wondered for the past few months, "where is Luna's sister?". She is pretty certain that Wren might be it.

friends are family potlucks

Winehaven

Wren went to Winehaven Winery last weekend with her auntie kel and grandma and grandpa. She was more interested in tasting milk than wine, but enjoyed the nice weather and a couple of good poops and a nap.

Grandpa's Birthday

Wren partied last weekend at grandma and grandpa's to celebrate grandpas birthday. She was in a good mood most of the time, practicing new noises and words, and enjoying the beautiful weather out on the deck.

in the name of research

Wren participated as a control subject in another study at dad's work. This time her body composition was being studied, lots of measuring and weighing. She started off in a pretty good mood, happy to see dad and be oohed at by his coworkers. Then she was stripped down to the buff in order to be weighed, and was not so thrilled. Then she was put into this "peapod" machine in a little drawer to check her body composition. She had to wear a funny black hat (that gangsta style she loves) in order to keep her hair and static from screwing up the results. It was warm and cozy in the drawer and she alternated from being comfy and intrigued, to angry, crying and thrashing around. She kept bonking her head on the sides of the drawer. It might have been harder on me than on her, I'm getting a little tired of watching my baby be put into weird pods and crying. I think dad owes us both, but he only said she is enrolled in another study next month....
