oscar party!
wren attended her first oscar party last night. she dressed in theme in a "milk" costume, which is perfect for her since she also loves milk. she was in good spirits all night, especially once she realized there was a 9 month old boy at the party. his name was tegan and they played all night. or at least until they both got cranky and fell asleep.
wren's new language.
wren has been talking so much! we still don't know what she is saying, but she is constantly telling us things, and singing, and talking to her kitties and toys. her newest sounds are goblin garbley and so sweet and funny. here are a couple of videos to listen to her new language...

wrens bloody nose.
here is a video mike really wanted to make while we were waiting for our clothes to wash at the laundromat. i said i would film as long as he promised wren wouldn't get hurt. of course a few seconds after the camera turns off she fell out of the basket and got a bloody nose. oh well. the video is still pretty cute...
wren and pickle.
here is a funny little video we took on Christmas day with wren. she was sitting at the dinner table with everyone and we gave her a pickle to keep her occupied. apparently she loves them, as she sucked every last bit of juice out of it and refused to have it taken away. i especially love how she shakes the pickle triumphantly at the end of the clip...

9 months!
we are behind on her updates. again. i think we are done moving though, for a couple years, and the holidays are over...so things are calmer and we are settling into a perfect pace together. wren is 9 months now and so much fun. she is standing on her own, without any support, but has yet to take those first steps. she is extremely talkative, and kinda screechy. she loves to scream. or sing? maybe its singing...she is eating more and more foods everyday, but she still loves mama milk best. she is also a fan of apples, sweet potatoes, trying mom and dads soups (miso!! yum!), banana, breads, pickles, and i dont know what else. anything we will let her try she will. she loves the kitties and i think she says "kitty". she definitely knows when we are talking about them and makes special noises and chases after them. she doesnt sleep much. during the day or at night. she goes to bed around 8:30 or 9, sometimes later. she gets up around 7...so that doesnt seem like much to me. i am lucky if she takes a nap. usually its a car nap, but if we are home all day she fights sleep forever. she loves playing with her friends, her monkey in a box, her baby, her stacking blocks, and play cups and dishes. she also loves cords and outlets, which is very annoying. she started swimming lessons, a gift from santa, but we put them on hold until april. it has been too cold to go over to woodbury at 6pm and swim and get back into a freezing car. she loves the water though and i think the lessons will be fun when we start again.
you can also keep up with wren on her other blog:
rock the cradle
here are some pics and a little video of wren at the baby disco at rock the cradle. rtc is an event hosted by the current with free music activities for families. the baby disco was really fun, and funny. it made me excited for the wedding dances wren will be at this spring/summer for erin and tresse's weddings!
