finally.

wren finally has a big girl car seat and weighs enough to sit facing forward. she is happier. we are happier. she can see out the window and talk to us, and its so much easier to buckle her in and check on her. she talks and claps and waves and points. happy baby in her car seat.

the other night wren was talking 5 to 7 steps at a time unassisted. as soon as she reached me she would laugh and fall in my arms and we would cheer. we kept counting her steps as she went, and she would get sillier as we counted. it was so cute and funny that we got out the camera. of course. but as soon as the camera came out she stopped performing her walking tricks. it was 1, or maybe 2, steps and then a crash into my arms or the ground. we have about 20 short videos of her not walking. here are a couple of them....

zoo trip.

took wren to the zoo after church. she loved it. she waved at people, and animals, and talked about everything she saw. she especially loved the snow leopard and kept pointing and saying "maaaaooooo" which i think is the word she associates with mau and manni and the kitties...i was especially impressed with the baby tamarin monkeys. wow, are they cute. mike said i can't have one. one of them came over the put its tiny hand on the glass up against wrens hand. they both stared at each other in amazement for a minute. i wanted to take a picture, but couldn't bring myself to break away from the sweetness and reality of the moment...

wrens new face.

wren has a new face. she has been doing it for a few weeks, but more and more frequently. its a scrunchy nose scrunchy lip face, like the one mike is making. i am determined to get it on camera, because it might disappear in a day or month or soon, but everytime i try to take a picture she stops doing it.

is it spring yet?

this is us swinging at the park a block from our house. i am so anxious to be able to walk there and play together in sunny weather, that i have been attempting it on some of the nicer slushy days we have. downside is the entire playground is a puddle and my feet are usually soaked through my boots by the time we get home. wren has fun though, even though she is a boogery mess by the time we get home. and check out her cute pink shoes. big girl shoes. she got them as a gift from luna, who picked them out especially for wren.

sick baby.

we just got back from the doctor and wren has a little bit of everything. she has an ear infection, eye infection, and virus causing lots of congestion, coughing and fever. she is now on oral antibiotics and eye drops, plus needs lots of rest and steam and baths...oh yeah, AND she has two top teeth coming in. they look awful. like 2 giant chiclets. i will try to sneak a photo later if she'll let me...she's already mad i keep picking her boogers and forcing medicine into her mouth and eyes...
