Wren loves to swing...

So many updates....

We are behind on updating Wren's blog. This is because we moved, got rid of our car, juggle 2 work schedules, bus schedules, Mike's school schedule, Wren, Honey and kitty schedules, and didn't have internet hook up for a couple of weeks.... Now we are back online and I have lots of pics to upload and share. Wren has obviously been busy, helping us pack and move, celebrating at Aunt Jill's wedding, visiting at the cabin, the farm, and learning so many new tricks, like rolling over and starting to creep backwards. She is incredibly happy, resilient, and adaptable. Nothing seems to faze her, no matter how chaotic life gets for us.

Wren is 5 months today!

Today Wren is 5 months old! To celebrate the beautiful weather, her birthday and just to play together as a family we went for a little outing. First we bussed downtown and stopped at Briggs to see Gramma Shell. She took us to lunch at the River room and then bought Wren some sweet little outfits for fall. She is gonna be stylin' this season. Then we bussed to the U of M to pick up some things for Mike and stop at the bank. This doesn't sound that exciting, but on a sunshiney day it is nice to relax waiting for the bus and sing with Wren and people watch. She loves riding the bus because she isn't stuck in her carseat and there is so much to look at. Then we took a bus to the Como Zoo. It was Wren's first trip to the zoo and she really liked it. She loved the Emperor Tamarins the best. They are tiny little monkeys with bright orange tails and white, old man mustaches and they run and jump constantly. Wren loved watching them and tracked them with her eyes and would laugh and kick when they went by. She also enjoyed the seals. They were in the indoor tank and would swim in circles and then pop up on occasion, which made Wren smile. She put her hands on the glass and stared at them. She liked the giraffe, too. However, I loved the baby orangutan. Everyone should go and see him. He the cutest little thing with a scrappy little body and wild orange hair. He was playing hiding games with his mom and a blanket and it was SO sweet. I am always identifying with other mamas now, even orangutan ones! And possibly Wren's favorite part was the coin funnel-well-thingy at the exit. She loved watching the nickels and pennies spin into the hole in the middle. We walked home from downtown St. Paul and had a lovely evening stroll down summit. Wren had a tubby and we read a book and tucked her into bed. She is completely exhausted. Was such a busy and fun day. Happy 5 months baby Wren!

thats how she rolls...

While many babies would be content to sit in their bouncy chair and bat their hands at the toys, baby wren spends the entire time in her chair grabbing on her toys and doing crunches. She currently has better abs than either of her parents have ever had. Maybe she'll be an Olympian?
